Director of Community Engagement
Aliya Bhatia is a serial volunteer. No, really. With a degree in International Relations and Art from the University of Toronto, it was through volunteering where she received her real education. She has taught English, sex education and computer literacy to young girls in Mumbai, been a project facilitator at Nuit Blanche, a dresser at Toronto Fashion Week, a volunteer with TIFF and canvassed with numerous local campaigns in and around UofT, Ryerson, Regent Park, and the Annex.
She was also the RBC Spur Emerging Fellow of 2015 and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of Toronto Youth Cabinet's Policy Committee, and their Director of Community Engagement. At her day job, she is a Digital Campaigner at cStreet Campaigns where she works with labour unions, government agencies, and higher education institutions to help them engage their members better using digital storytelling and communication tools.
